BANKS / ATM’S
On our Main and East Campuses and the nearby Bilkent Center shopping area, there are branches and ATMs of a number of banks.
BEDDING and LINENS
Amongst the items provided for every student are: mattress, bedsheet, pillow, pillowcase, quiltcase, blanket, and quilt. Throughout our students’ stays in our dorms, these items are laundered on a regular basis for no extra charge.
BICYCLES
Bicycle racks are placed at our dormitory entrances.
CAR PARKING
Car parking facilities are offered near our dormitory buildings.
CLEANING SERVICES
All areas of our dorms, including student rooms, are cleaned on a frequent and regular basis by our ISO certificated contractors, according to health and hygiene regulations. Routine room and bed linen services are provided. Extra service is available on request.
COMMON BATHROOMS & RESTROOMS
Fully equipped, well-planned common bathrooms & restrooms are located on each resident floor, in every dorm building.
COMPUTER CENTERS
Our computer centers, designed to support the University’s educational activities and research, provide 24/7 lectures service, including weekends and holidays.
DRINKING WATER
Purified drinking water is provided in all our dormitories’ kitchen areas and water dispensers for use by our students without charge.
ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
For safety reasons, the use of high-voltage electrical appliances like heaters, radiators, cookers, ovens, air conditioners, halogen lamps, etc. İs not permitted in our dormitory rooms.
EMERGENCIES
In case of an emergency (health, security, fire, e.g.), please dial 6666 directly from your room, or anywhere on our Campuses. Our emergency response teams are on duty 24 hours a day.
FIRE SAFETY SYSTEMS
Our dorms are protected by Electronic Fire Alarm Systems. Smoke and heat detectors are positioned in all common areas. Buildings are also fully equipped with portable fire extinguishers, hoses with hydrant connections, as well as efficient emergency exit signages.
FOOD & BEVERAGE FACILITIES
In addition to the canteens in dorms 70, 76 and 81, and the snack bars on both the Main and East Campuses, there are several food and beverage outlets on and in the vicinity of the Campuses, offering a variety of services. These include table d’hote and a’la-carte restaurants, cafeterias, fast food services, and cafes as well as delivery services. Most of our dorms also have vending machines for snacks and soft drinks.
GAME AREAS / ROOMS
Our students may enjoy games including billiards, table tennis and chess in our game areas/rooms; located almost in every dorm building.
GUESTS
According to availability; our students may invite their close relatives (parents and siblings) for overnight stays, and accommodate them in our guest rooms in certain dormitory buildings for temporary periods (up to five days), at reasonable rates.
HAIRDRESSERS / BEAUTY CENTER
There are hairdressers in the Main and East Campuses dormitory areas: women’s in dorm 77 + 90, and men’s in dorm 78. The Beauty Center is located in dorm 77.
HEALTH SERVICES
Our Health Centers are staffed by experienced health care professionals and equipped with 3 ambulances. Located on both the Main and East Campuses, the centers offer service 24 hours / 7 days a week. Emergency services are also provided.
HEATING
All our dorms are heated through our central heating system.
HOT WATER
All our dorms offer 24-hours continuous hot water.
IN-ROOM TV
All our dorm resident rooms, except in Dorms 15, 77 and 78, have TV hookups (Turkish channels). Dorms 69 and 70 offer several selected international channels, in addition to Turkish ones.
INTERNET
All student rooms have wired and wireless internet access free of charge for academic purposes. There is wired or wireless internet access in at least one common study room in the dormitory buildings.
KITCHEN / KITCHENETTE
There are kitchens and/or kitchenettes in all our dorm buildings. These are furnished with dining tables and chairs, and equipped with sink counters, cupboards, refrigerators, deep-freezers, electric cookers, toaster ovens, microwave ovens, toasters, and kettles (There are also dishwashers in many of our dorms). Our students can cook and eat in the kitchens/kitchenettes 24 hours a day.
LAUNDRY and DRY CLEANING SERVICES
There is a privately run laundry in Dorm 69, which provides laundry, dry cleaning and ironing services to students.
LECTURES and SEMINARS
Extracurricular lectures and seminars on various topics are frequently arranged by the university, in dormitory areas.
LIBRARIES
Our Libraries, containing an extensive collection of books, periodicals and non-print items, are open to our students seven days a week.
MAIL / PACKAGE SERVICES
All incoming mail and packages are delivered to resident students on a daily basis.
OFF-HOUR MANAGEMENT SERVICE
To extend the direct assistance, we provide to students during regular office hours to 24/7 availability, the Dormitories Administration is always represented by a manager on duty during off hours and days.
PETS
Pets like fish in bowl, tiny sea turtle, hamster in cage, e.g. may be permissible only upon Dormitories Management’s approval of the Pet Application/Contract filled out and presented by the students.
REPAIR & MAINTENANCE
Our R&M Team is on duty 24 hours a day. If any technical services, including electrical, plumbing and general repair are needed, they will be happy to provide them promptly.
ROOM FURNITURE
All our rooms are furnished with a single bed or a bunk bed, plus a study desk and office chair, bookshelf or case and wardrobe for each resident, also a mini refrigerator and a telephone. Some deluxe rooms may also have special features such as dishwashers, microwave ovens and armchairs.
SECURITY
Security for our dorms is provided 24 hours a day by means of the electronic entrance and camera systems set at building entrances, under supervision of our dormitory employees.
SHOPPING FACILITIES
There are number of shops both on our campuses and at nearby shopping centers, where our students can buy a large variety of items at reasonable prices.
SMOKING
In accordance with the Public Law 5727, the use of cigarettes and tobacco products are prohibited in all our Dormitory buildings, including dormitory rooms and all other areas.
STORAGE ROOMS
All our dorms provide storage rooms, where our students may store their excess belongings for temporary periods.
STUDY and STUDIO ROOMS
There are study rooms and study areas in every dormitory building. Studio rooms are also located as required.
TELEPHONES
Public phones are placed in majority of dormitory entrances. Students may directly be reached through their room phones.
TRANSPORTATION / SERVICES
Transportation to the city center is provided by our regularly scheduled private shuttle buses. Shuttle buses also provide service between and within our campuses. Transportation services are free for our students.
TV ROOMS / LOUNGES
Selected Turkish and international channells can be enjoyed in our TV Rooms / Lounges in all of our dormitories. Cable/satellite TV service (additional Turkish & international channels, film channels and the Turkish football channel) is also provided in the TV lounges of Dormitories 78 and 91.
